What we collect
- Your answers. What you want a spell for, what's happening, what's in the way, what you have at home, and your birthday (for your sign).
- Your contact details. Your email address, and your first name if you give it.
- Purchases. What you bought, when and for how much. Stripe handles your card; we never see the full number.
- Membership. Your plan, its status, and anything you tell the oracle for future spells.
- A little technical data. A one-way scrambled version of your IP address, used only to stop abuse. We don't keep the address itself.
- Gifts. If you send a spell, the person's first name and email and what you wrote about them. We email them the spell once and never again unless they ask.
- Where you came from. If you arrive from an ad or a link someone shared, the name of that source (like "share"), so we know what's working.
- When you cast it. If you tap "I cast it," the date, so our check-in asks the right question.
How we use it
- To write your spell and send it to you.
- To email you about your spell: the delivery, a reminder if you haven't opened it yet, and a check-in three days later.
- To run the Circle if you join: your moon spells, gift spells and membership emails.
- To keep Spellmade safe and to understand, in totals, what's working. We count, without names, how many people reach each step of the quiz.
The AI that writes your spell
Your answers are sent to Anthropic's Claude, the AI that powers our oracle, so it can write your spell. Anthropic processes them for us under its commercial terms, which don't allow your answers to be used to train its models.
Who else sees it
Only the services that run Spellmade, each for its own job: Cloudflare (hosting and storage), Stripe (payments), Anthropic (writing spells) and Brevo (email). We don't sell your personal information, and we don't use advertising cookies or pixels. If that ever changes, we'll update this page first and give you a way to opt out.
Cookies and storage
The quiz keeps your progress in your browser while you take it, and your browser remembers where you first came from. Circle members get one sign-in cookie. Share images of your card are made on your device; nothing about them is sent to us. That's all.
How long we keep it
We keep your spells so your links keep working. If you never open your spell, we delete your answers after 60 days. If what you write suggests you may be in danger, we show you crisis resources and don't keep what you wrote. Ask us and we'll delete your answers, spells and account details within 30 days; we keep only what the law requires for payment records and the fact that you unsubscribed, so we never email you by mistake.
Your choices
Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link. To see, correct or delete what we have about you, write to hello@spellmade.co and we'll answer within 30 days, wherever you live.
Adults only
Spellmade is for people 18 and older. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone younger, and we delete it if we learn we have.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. Important changes go out to members by email.
